Flying the Nest

My little birdie left the nest for the first time ever. Bill's Grandma Thrash sadly passed away. He was to make the trip alone for the funeral service but decided at the last minute he wanted to surprise his family and take Will along. I was shocked he was willing to do that, excited that I was getting two whole days to myself, and incredibly nervous that my baby was going to be so far away from me. I didn't sleep at all the night before they left and I cried so hard seeing them go. But Bill was great about checking in with me to reassure me all was well and knowing how happy his being there made his family. And Will had a blast! And I did ok myself ;-)  I spent time doing the things I don't normally make the time to do like long walks by myself, watching movies and reading, seeing friends I don't get to see nearly as often as I'd like. But I couldn't have been happier or more ready to welcome them home.

First time in his own seat on the plane!

Bill's beautiful cousins, Grace (center) and Christina. They live in CO and hadn't met Will before, so Bill had a great time catching up with them.

Bill's favorite 2nd/3rd cousins Ann-Marie (right) and Nicole. He hadn't seen them in many, many years so it was a nice reunion.

Will made a visit to Uncle Tim & Chris house and got the privilege of seeing their collector's commodity train table! Can you say, little boy heaven?!

Fun at Grandma's House

The Easter bunny left a basket waiting for Will at Grandma's house!

And the people said, Amen.
